Why can’t he do what he wants? Clubs shed players they don’t think are right for them all the time, why is it different if a player doesn’t think a club is right for him? Loyalty hasn’t existed since Super League, so that argument’s just blind nostalgia. If you believe what you read, Luia prefers the injured kid anyway. Just more online outrage over a 19 year old footy player….also, Benji hasn’t done very much as a coach to be frank.

I think what the author left out is that Israel lied to his employer. He promised not to post defamatory pieces of text, and he did. This isn’t about christianity per se, but Israel believing he is above everyone else because of his beliefs. That makes him not a team player. Players don’t pick the squad so there’s no double-standard to speak of. The coach (and he is the coach) only wants players who will be here (with the odd OS pick), which he has said from the start of his tenure. Not sure how him leaving makes his non-selection of leaving players a thing.
