Milanovic should be a huge talking point.
The lad went AWOL this weekend, and this is one of those players people are saying Popa MUST select for the Socceroos.
This type of performance can and will happen to any player, but younger players are more susceptible to them than more experienced players.
And performing well at club level is different to doing the same going for your country. We need to calm down with the calls for young players to be elevated prematurely in competitive international games.

Turns out Stajic is out of contract.
Zadkovich may get his chance yet !!

I wouldn’t argue with that list, other than to say you’re being harsh on Auckland. They’re not old enough to be hated by anyone yet lol.

Point 1 is a “so what”? You’ve heard of Wrexham, Cardiff & Swansea competing in the English system right?
Point 2 is not even close: the “most hated” scale starts with Sydney then City, WU, MacArthur in no particular order. Victory aren’t even Top 5.
Points 3 & 4 are correct. And your comment on NSWs well received.

The “Finals” are just a post-season money-grab, we all ready know who won (Auckland); the real action starts in Darwin tomorrow night.

Can you give me a pitch to OFC as to why they should join AFC?
Right now they get a guaranteed spot in the World Cup and the World Club Cup, combined probably worth $100m to them.
What does joining AFC bring?

It was a good, not great, weekend of finals football – including a big upset in the woman’s comp as City fell 1-0 to Mariners following an early red card.
I’m neutral from here on out who now wins, it might as well be Auckland as they’re the only team left that can pull a crowd.
Western pulled in the lowest ever crowd for an elimination final – I’m sure the APL Boys Club will look the other way when realistically there’s a club that should be shown the exit door!!

Via Management, and on several occasions, the Bakries have promised investment – $18m has been mentioned.
It would be nice if, for once, they did keep their word – the Bakries putting in $18m matches by State and then City with a GST relief from Federal is the equivalent of a $60m build … you could do a lot with Perry Park with $60m, Dolphin being a great example of modest money delivering a great venue (if you don’t mind no roof lol).
FA CEO Johnson stands down, former Matilda named as interim replacement
Yeah, it’s definitely going to be a light version of everythsts been proposed.
But if really wouldn’t take too much to make it a decent AL venue: make the current stand safe, terrace at the YMCA end, a temporary stand down the open side, then leave the hill as-is.
Plus of course all the above – grass, lights, changing, facilities etc.

Congratulations on making the Grand Final CCM.
(And no … ir wasn’t offside City!!)

They get a pass on empty seats but no, that pitch was worse that anything Suncorp has served up – it was dangerous.

Not sure either. It’s normally the losing coach that arcs up though lol

3 out of 4 teams in the finals can’t draw a decent crowd.
Which State are they all from?
😂 😛

Thankfully that game wasn’t held at Suncorp otherwise all journalists would have been forced to write paragraph after paragraph about how poor the pitch was.
But it’s NSWs so we don’t do that apparently.
Literally the most dangerous pitch served up this season. We are lucky no one did an ACL on that 😱

Well I called both of these elimination finals wrong, not surprised by either result mind you. This is a tight Finals Series.
Hats off to Arthur Diles though, he’s one of several “coaches of the year” and Victory seem to be getting better with the more time he’s in post – he should have got the gig last winter imo.
Tough end to the season for Stajic and Wanderers, I felt their season deserved a crack of the Grand Final but hey, that is football.
Stajic does leave the season with one award though following his unprovoked post game spat with Dillis:
He takes home the ‘Ruban Zadkovich Memorial Bitter n Twisted trophy’. Each season one lucky coach will get a seasons long supply of pizza with a side of video analysis and kit men will receive Strength & Conditioning buff.
Well done Staj 👍

That’s probably the key statement and would account for much of the loss, if not all, depending how it’s being treated.

It was almost like Aloisi and fined defence all together with some nonsensical defensive errors on a regular basis.
Fowler seemed to get it right – started out with a solid defensive structure, even with three st the back, and then built a more offensive platform on the back of that. It worked – they were the form team when COVID hit.
Valkanis to replace Zadkovich at Brisbane Roar, Socceroo takes the reins at Newcastle
Can’t argue with Sam Klein. Probably had a game that literally defines “player who made the difference” by putting two away when others couldn’t do it.
Big-hearted Taggart and tidy Tilio impress: A-League players who were the difference in Round 29
Possibly.

No, sorry wasn’t drawing a parallel with his time at Roar.
The parallel I was drawing was Roar fans snd Spurs fans – a bit of a toxic element in both, both sets of fans impatient for a return to past glories, and both sets quick to get angry when things don’t go their way.

How can you hate Roar?
Even when we were kicking everyone’s ass we were pretty much many people’s “second team”.
