Hard to tell re: Love after a few games. He’s a really good player no doubt and just hope he stays around – him and Jacomb who started the season off very well but has slowed down, since.
Staggering rise of an All Blacks No.10 bolter - 'he could develop into a special player in that position'
That’s a good poitn JD – the power of the French clubs and the player loyalty to the latter in the past has hurt their Test team. Arguably, France next to S.A now has the most raw rugby talent in the world (the Junior World cup dominance more than anything suggests this) – but I don’t think the traditionally strong Test teams (Boks, ABs and even England) fear them. French players seem to put much more in Toulouse, La Rochelle and Bordeaux colours than Le Bleu … as compared to S.A and NZ players in their respective Test jerseys. I think the latter two teams bring out their best in their players i.e Eben, Kolisi, Cheslin, Scooter and the other Crusader forwards. Du Pont is at best in Toulouse colours. So, is Penaud … I know there are holes in this argument and there are many variables at play here but that is my general sense … Test rugby is harder and easier for star players to shine in club games etc
Super Rugby at last has an identity - but it's still living in a world of delusion
If T-Wolves go past Lakers they’ll be dangerous. Waiting to see what happens with OKC in 2nd round. If Warriors remain healthy and don’t have to meet Lakers it would be dangeous to count them out … they are small though and it would come down to matchups.
NBA Playoffs: Part 1 - Which western team gets through to the finals?
Very nice! Really hope Oz rugby out of doldrums as the competition is good for kiwi sides. Also for the Lions tour! And to think how Oz rugby had to be dragged kicking and screaming to have 4 sides. The change is incredible!
Dolly, Potter make hay as Force smash Fiji Drua to ensure all FOUR Aussie Super Rugby sides are in top six
Moana are a problem at ‘home’. They are going to cause many teams problems … over there. They beat the Canes. They almost beat the Clan and have now stretched the leaders.
DMac's Chiefs survive incredible comeback - but Super Rugby leaders denied crucial bonus point
Blues have lost Paddy. Ardie big for Moana as he’s been beating or almost by himself.
Super Rugby Pacific Casualty Ward, Round 13: Porecki, Lee-Warner return for Tahs, Paisami suffers leg injury, DMac is back

'Added fire to our bellies': France smash Ireland in Six Nations stunner as Dupont suffers 'reprehensible' injury
They missed a lot of chances against England. They convert an early 2 of those and that would have gone on to be a thumping …
'Added fire to our bellies': France smash Ireland in Six Nations stunner as Dupont suffers 'reprehensible' injury
Quite a lot of talking points. This beat-down is good for Ireland. No point turning out between the RWC and playing the house down only to go out in the QFs. Better to learn from these kind of beatings to improve then. I suspect Irish selectors will be cured of any sentimentality after this game. Get rid of the late 30s – 40-year olds. Why have Healy, that cart-horse scrum half Murray and Mahony. Why or why?
The Irish attack was really blunt. And as always when the Irish kiwis don’t have a blinder the rest of the team doesn’t play well. Lowe really helps a lot … and him missing showed today …
Also, Farrell is away so he’ll re-energise things when he’s back.
France might have just stumbled onto a formula for Test rugby. They seem to underachieve with their ‘golden generation’ and ‘best player in the world’. Their rugby clubs however know how to use these players. Now, maybe as great as their individual back players are – they have too many great forwards to not use them properly and this is what they did today. Used them to pound Ireland into submission. And then let their back flair speak …
And who knows maybe Dupont does at times overplay his hand and Lucu just did the basics well bringing in the rest of the team and that really worked …
In terms of the North England are also lurking and there is a chance they might overtake Ireland by RWC ’27 …

World XV. Really? lol. Good player but still a way down the line. Ardie? VDF. Is he even better that Dalton?
Japan throws $1m deal at Wallabies gun as overseas threat reaches new level of peril
for that reason that Debreceni pass that didnt go out to the open man would have closed that game. The Blues are also unfit …
Brumbies snap 12-year drought at Eden Park after last-minute penalty seals famous win, Barrett injury darkens day
How long was that Blues game plan using blunt force trauma going to continue to be a winning formula once team figured they just needed to really front up and wait for their chances? Great for Pones and comp!
Brumbies snap 12-year drought at Eden Park after last-minute penalty seals famous win, Barrett injury darkens day
Ardie. Almost beat the Clan by himself last week.
Where the Blues will try to bully Brumbies - and why it's an early season must-win for Larkham's men
The Blues are playing the same way or trying to but coaches analysed them and that has been blunted. In a way it’s pretty easy to stop. You just have to man up to the blunt approach lol.
Where the Blues will try to bully Brumbies - and why it's an early season must-win for Larkham's men
Markus, spot on. Blues are very good at that. They really got pinged for that against the Chiefs. And Doleman is terrible. He makes the most unexpected calls.
Where the Blues will try to bully Brumbies - and why it's an early season must-win for Larkham's men
Well, firstly the Blues are clearly now the bullies they were anymore. Especially on defence. And they are nowhere as smart as team as the Chiefs who were quite poor last week. Esp on defence. The Brumbies just need to make sure that the Blues do not get a sense they can dominate them in the forwards. The last few weeks have shown that once you do that everything which is mark of their last few seasons starts to crumble. They were lucky to win last week’s game. That’s where the Pones have to start. Attrition. If they do that their attack as shown last week is brill. Good luck to them. I dislike the CUBs for their one-dimensional game plan and trying to buy everyone.

There is little chance FInau ever does an Akira even if he doesn’t hit the heights of Kaino. Basically Akira wanted to be a 7s player even at his size and strength. And the lack of works ethic and playing to highlights!
Forgotten All Black back on selection radar as Chiefs mount late surge to snuff out Brumbies comeback
I agree JD – the Oz sides really look solid. The derbies are almost as much fun as the kiwi ones. Brumbies vs Blues will be interesting. The kiwi conference with the Clan now up for it is a very tough schedule …
Forgotten All Black back on selection radar as Chiefs mount late surge to snuff out Brumbies comeback
I think a shorter more intense week is better for players health but also for us as viewers. The Top 14 feels so long that one can’t be bothered to watch it all. Its a surfeit of rugby. Players are better when they rest. This might explain French players unable to find their Heinecken Cup form in Tests. They do rest for the RWC though don’t they?
Forgotten All Black back on selection radar as Chiefs mount late surge to snuff out Brumbies comeback
Next week Blues play Canes – who are depleted and no where near what they were last season. Without Jordie and Ardie’s leadership they are not just as good. Blues lose that one … they should worry …
The next Dmac? Highlanders' next All Black generation overcomes Blues to post emotional first win
Blues are too programmed. They have never been the smartest inspite of having a lot of individual talent. How they were unable to do anything with 20 mins playing against 13 players is crazy. That’s why the Saders always got over them in the Razor days. Without scrums they just couldn’t get into a physical mindset lol. Last season they discovered they discovered an effective form of forward play that surprised teams. Now they have a target on their back so no one is going to take a step back. The Chiefs didn’t and once the Blues once blunt instrument was dulled they had no answers. The Clan with less big bodies played smart. But it also seemed that the Blues used to that blunt game plan and putting games to be by the hour don’t have the fitness to play beyond that … get them to run around and they are soon huffing and puffing … BBB was terrible. Those return kicks of his are terrible. Without him last season role players like Plummer and AJ Lam really stepped up. Now they seem restrained. Where’s that big former Sevens player who was playing 12. Opposition players seem to have figured out Telea – he’s not getting any space at all …
The next Dmac? Highlanders' next All Black generation overcomes Blues to post emotional first win
Yup, Jordan in the first 10-20 metres especially must be one of the fastest there is … but over longer distances (60-90 m) some like Rieko might be quicker. Doesn’t matter as once Jordan’s done 30 and is uncatchable its try time …
Super Rugby is finally a product worth selling because Australia has arrived at the races at long last
The two NZ derbies suggested that it’ll be surprising if those are not the 4 favourite teams in the semis without counting out the Ponies. Yet to see the Reds. Once Tahs take on Chiefs and Blues we’ll know where they are …

Wallabies coach Schmidt opens up on 'disappointing' decision to finish up ahead of World Cup
But NBA has the Joker, Luka D and the Spurs was propped by Frenchman Tony P and Argentinian so it does have the same diasporic element. Only that those players play for the nations during Olympics. It must however be said that these three Trans-Tasmanian imports/exports really improved their game in NH – they were not even close to a national cap and JGP is top 5 in the world his position and the other two arguably top 20?
Three Kiwis, two Aussies and ONE bolter named in Lions squad as coach snubs son for Wallabies tour
